Smile Design (Hollywood Smile) is a comprehensive treatment plan in cosmetic dentistry that aims to bring the appearance of teeth and gums to an ideal level through a personalized and systematic approach. 1. Detailed Consultation and Digital Design (DSD): The patient's aesthetic expectations, facial structure, and oral health are evaluated. Photos and videos are taken with special cameras. Using these images, Buşra Nur Özger and her team design the ideal size, length, and shape of the teeth with DSD software. This digital output is presented to the patient.
2. Mock-up (Temporary Trial): A physical model of the digital design is applied inside the mouth. With this “temporary trial,” the patient can see the final appearance of their teeth in the mirror before the procedure. All necessary adjustments are determined at this stage.
3. Preparing the Teeth: The teeth are minimally ground down (0.3-0.7 mm for laminate veneers) according to the design to prepare them for molding. This step is painless as it is performed under local anesthesia. Temporary teeth are then fitted for the patient to use during the laboratory process.
4. Laboratory Production: Based on the measurements taken, porcelain crowns are produced using high-precision CAD/CAM devices with the material selected by the patient (E-max or Zirconium).
5. Final Try-in and Cementation (Bonding): The prepared permanent porcelain restorations are tried in the mouth one last time after arriving from the laboratory, and color and fit checks are performed. After obtaining the patient's approval, the porcelain restorations are permanently bonded to the teeth using special aesthetic adhesives (cements).
