Rhinoplasty is a procedure performed under general anesthesia, typically lasting 2 to 3 hours. Depending on the surgeon’s experience and the structure of the nose, either the Open or Closed technique is chosen.
- 1. Anesthesia Administration: General anesthesia is administered to ensure complete comfort throughout the surgery.
- 2. Technique Selection (Open or Closed):
Open Rhinoplasty: A small incision is made in the lower part separating the nostrils (columella), and the nasal skin is lifted upward to directly expose the cartilage and bone structures. (Preferred in more complex cases and revisions).
Closed Rhinoplasty: All incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scar on the outside. (Preferred for minimal changes and nasal bridge corrections).
- 3. Aesthetic and Functional Corrections: Excess bone or cartilage is removed (bridge shaving), cartilages are reshaped (nose tip aesthetics), and a deviated septum is corrected (septoplasty).
- 4. Closure: Cartilage and soft tissues are repositioned with sutures. A plaster cast or thermoplastic splint is placed over the nose, and tampons or silicone supports may be placed inside the nose.

Recovery Process
